Project Willow Report and Appendices

We are delighted to share with you the final report of the Willow project, which was completed in August 2018. Just click on the buttons to link to the relevant documents.

The objective of the Willow project, which was sponsored by Cornwall Council, was to generate executable and viable ideas connected to living and community arrangements that will maximise the financial, health and emotional wellbeing of older people in Cornwall.

The report brings together information that will be valuable to anyone interested in this area. However, publication of the report was never the optimum outcome. It was always intended that this would help to lay a foundation that would begin the process of bringing together public, private and voluntary sectors with opportunities and possibilities related to housing for people in later life in Cornwall.

We are hoping that the launch of the report will inspire people to share and work together on the ideas put forward in the report. We want to see people working collaboratively to make the necessary changes and take the actions that will enable and support new developments and innovative outcomes.

We believe that this report provides an appropriately multi-faceted vision of the impact that housing and community has on the wellbeing of elderly people in Cornwall.

Since we started work on Project Willow, we have been delighted to see the launch of Cornwall Council’s Extra Care initiative to work collaboratively with strategic partners to develop Extra Care facilities across the county.  We look forward to seeing this ambitious and exciting project, and others, flourish and help to improve the wellbeing of people in later life in Cornwall.

We are keen to have feedback on any of the issues covered in the report so please do let us know if you have any thoughts and ideas about any of the opportunities and challenges mentioned. You can use the Contact form on this website or email Carol Randall on carol@willowkernow.com

(Please note that this website is also currently being used to support the Extra Care community engagement initiative in Bodmin but the contact form can be used for either purpose. )
